What is the Schengen area?

What is a Schengen visa?



Before knowing the requirements of a Schengen visa, one must realize that there are many types of Schengen visa, which will be explained in detail, as follows:



It is divided into A and B. The A visa gives its holder the right to move freely in international airports, while he does not have the right to move between Schengen countries. As for the B visa, it gives its holder the possibility of moving between Schengen countries for a period not exceeding 5 days on an exceptional basis For travel outside the countries of the Schengen agreement.



It grants the holder of this visa the right to move freely and to travel between all Schengen countries for a period not exceeding 12 months, in order to obtain work or carry on business.



This visa grants its holder the right to move between countries for tourism in a period not exceeding 3 months, alone or with family.



It grants its holder a period not exceeding 90 days to move and travel between Schengen countries, for the purpose of studying or working.



This visa is granted to a group of individuals, the number of which varies from 5 to 50 individuals, taking into account that travel between countries is carried out collectively for a maximum period of 30 days.



What are the conditions for a Schengen visa?



The Schengen visa requirements are as follows:




  • Two recent personal photos on a white background, 3.5 x 4.5 format.




  • A certified copy of the passport, valid for a period of more than 6 months, taking into account that the original must be brought.




  • Bank statement with an approved document for the transaction within the last 3 months, bearing in mind that it is in English.




  • Plane ticket reservation confirmed.




  • Present a certificate of registration from the student's university or school and ask for parental authorization.




  • Bring proof of hotel reservation.




  • Bring a certificate showing all movements to and from the country over a period of more than 6 months.




  • Bring a certified document certifying the existence of valid health insurance for a period covering the duration of the trip, making sure that the stamp is official and not electronic.




  • Write down all the required data and information that is in the Schengen form, and the form is obtained from the embassy.




  • Bring proof of the reason for the visit, be it work, tourism or something else.




  • Bring a document from the candidate's employer indicating the nature of the work, monthly salary and years of experience. It must be translated into English before submission.




  • If working in a private entity, business registration must be submitted.




  • A copy of all visas he has previously obtained, if any.




  • If the family accompanies the applicant, the family card must be presented.




  • Some embassies require a certified copy of the national identity card.




  • Pay all prescribed financial fees for obtaining a Schengen visa.



How much does the Schengen visa cost?



After familiarizing yourself with all the requirements of a Schengen visa, you should know the prescribed financial charges, which are the same and do not differ depending on the period or the number of times you enter the country. These charges have were determined as follows:



1- If the person is an adult, the fee is set at 60 euros.



2- For 6 to 12 year olds, the price is set at 35 euros.



3- In the case of children under 6 years old, no charge is imposed on them.
